Hi @JoanneCFYF — thanks for bringing this up and sorry to hear about the frustration this is causing. It looks like another seller had the same question, and received an answer. Check out this thread by Kelly. Hope that helps for now.

Printer companies issues a “series” much like a car model. Jeep a different vehicles (a car series) and different models within that Jeep Cherokee is a car series and they have different models within the Jeep Cherokee family. TSP100 is of of Star’s printer series (like a car model) and TSP143… is the specific model. TSP143ii are current USB models and TSP143iii are the current LAN and Bluetooth models. Hope that helps. 🙂
PayPal Here and Square have fairly similar hardware setup. The main difference between the two is PayPal Here uses the device camera as a built in barcode scanner. To use a barcode scanner with Square, you need to purchase an external Bluetooth scanner. For more information on compatible hardware, see our PayPal Here Basics Article or Square Basics article. Square also offers the Square Stand, a stand with a built-in magnetic stripe card reader and USB hub.

This is an impact printer. So it makes a noise when it prints. Why would you want this? You might want it if you are in an area such as a kitchen where thermal paper receipts don’t print as well because of moisture in the area. You would not want this noise around customers. But if you have a moist area such as a busy kitchen this impact printer may be what you can use. Here is the user manual for the Star Micronics SP742ML.

Ok seriously came here 5 different times and wasted over 2 hours trying to figure this out. What’s the point? Why don’t they just make self-serving kiosks??? The employees are nice, just completely clueless, understaffed, and empty minded.
If you are connecting to a Windows PC, you can go into the Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Ports and determine if the port is functioning and the port number matches with the setup of your software.
How much does replacement paper rolls cost? Not much. You should be able to find 10 rolls for under $25. At times you can find deals for $1.50 per roll. Quality of the paper can vary. Some paper can be so thin that your customer can see through it. This should not be a problem as the paper is really just for one purpose which is providing receipt of purchase.

I spent years in jobs that included lots of cash handling. This cash drawer is the nicest I’ve seen. It’s solid build will last for years and its finish is just lovely. It triggers cleanly and the drawer all but shoots out when triggered. I’m very pleased.

I just spent almost an hour waiting for a delivery, that was signed off and delivered last night, in this location. They couldn’t find it. I watched as several staple workers looked for it in the SAME location.. As if it was magically going to appear. Finally the supervisor/manager says we’ll just give you one off the shelf. It was a 20 count pack of toilet tissue…. Really… It took you almost 45 mins to figure that out.. Ridiculous… Staff is ghetto. I will NEVER use this Staples again.
@bkfconsulting – Welcome to the Seller Community, and kudos on your first post! 👏 As for your question, I’m afraid I may not have the best of news. I think for things to function the way you want, you would need to use Square Stands with full-sized iPads and USB printers (unless you’re willing to concede using automated cash drawers). It really depends on how much that functionality is worth to you. If it’s not that important, you could just pick up a few bluetooth printers and pair them to the iPad Minis for printing receipts.
This staples is consistently a disaster. The printers never print my documents on the first attempt, to which I then have to re-print and then wait in line again to receive a refund. I feel bad for the associates because they are apologizing for technological malfunctions that they don’t have much control over. One associate, Vincent, was really helpful today. I hope he is getting compensated well for his efforts.
It’s been about three years since I excepted credit cards. The last device I used was pogo through provident bank. Which did not work out at all. The Device made an error and it was fixed but I lost $700 in the process due to processing fees but they refused to refund me. The problem is there’s too many hands involved and they have you on the phone going in circles. The evil leader being First Data they just kept eating money out of my account and I was helpless and could not stop it. So This left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. But after working for a few years I started to lose customers because I did not except credit card so I decided if square a chance. And I started taking credit cards. I have processed roughly $11,000 in three days for deposits on jobs and some payments. I was watching my account getting ready for to be deposited. After three days nothing. Did not realize that square tried to contact me because of the large amount of transactions and they put a hold on my account. I thought to myself here we go again. They requested a list of documents and proof of identity. I thought it would take weeks for them to process it. By 12 o’clock the next day they processed it and released the funds. That impressed me. And ever since it has been great. Money is quick about 12-24 hours. So give them a shot. They deserve it.
