HP Smart App: Our most powerful printing APP ever– The HP Smart app allows you to easily set up your HP wireless printer, scan documents with your camera, and print from social media or the cloud, such as iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox
The second way to configure your printer is to use its wireless setup wizard. To use this you’ll need to know your Wi-Fi network’s name, as well as its password. The wizard will first perform a scan to find nearby networks. Then you select the name of your network from the list and enter its password. Once the password is entered correctly your printer should be available on your network. You’ll still have to install the driver software for your printer, however, on all the computers that are going to be used for printing. After that job is complete, you can start printing from anywhere in your home.

2. While the reader is still plugged in and charging, press and hold the power/reset button for at least 20 seconds to fully reboot the reader. FYI, this button is located on the back of the reader by the USB cable slot.

There are two approaches to cloud printing. The first is commonly called email printing. With this method your printer is assigned an email address and any file that you email to this specific address will be printed by your Internet-connected printer.
When two Bluetooth enabled devices connect to each other, this is called pairing. The structure and the global acceptance of Bluetooth technology means any Bluetooth enabled device, almost everywhere in the world, can connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices located in proximity to one another.

Overall, this is a great printer. I can’t complain about the price because for similar thermal printers, this is relatively cheap. Any cheaper and there are issues with printing mechanics and whatnot.
Bluetooth printers have an emulation type like most desktop printers, so the receipt format and capabilities of the printer are tied to that emulation. The most popular emulations are Epson emulation and Star Emulation.
The product was simple and straight to the point. I was able to easily figure out how to use the device without any prior experience. Transactions were easy, fast and made the start to.my small business the kick that it needed to push more sales with more options to pay. I love how easy it is to carry along and keep with me in my bag if I wanted to. So glad to have this device !
Wireless printing is hugely convenient, because it makes it easy to share your printer with your computing kit. All the main printer manufacturers now include models in their ranges that have Wi-Fi onboard. Typically you’ll find wireless built-in to models that cost from £40 and upwards, so you don’t necessarily have to spend big to get this functionality. Wireless printing is supported on HP’s Deskjet 3000 (pictured, below right), which is priced at just £45, for example.
Had 3 of these in my place to on cash draws one in the kitchen they work well as long as there is no internet/WiFi drop off. Using it with couple IPad Airs and Square register app for several years. When I loose internet or sometimes they seem to disconnect from the register even when I don’t have internet problems and they usually have to powered off and on. Also in the mean time my cash draw wont open and I have to find the key. Being so annoyed I with connection issues I have since replaced them with the USB versions (except the kitchen one) and all my problems stopped.

I am still trying my best to use it. My POS system doesn’t support Star. and now I am having the common problem that I am dealing with Star tech support, they are still working on it to solve the problem, which is it doesn’t print out All Receipts bar-codes on my machine even from their own configuration utility, can’t use Receipt Flip, it doesn’t cut off the receipt automatically, doesn’t print out my full store name in every other receipt, and sometimes the receipt goes out 2 feet long.
In many cases the type of printer supported is determined by the application of your choice. Each Application Developer has decided to strategically support certain printer types. However many of them allow you to pick between these three major connectivity types.
The warranty is longer on the 88V so it, including the increased speed, the increased reliability there is a longer warranty on the T88V. High paced restaurants or retail establishments I’d still go with the 88V, I’d spend a little extra money and get the better printer but if you are on a tight budget and you’re looking for something more economical the T20II is a good solution, the speed has definitely improved over the original T20. If you have a Square Stand, in addition to the printers above, you can use certain USB interface receipt printers. The following receipt printers are only compatible with the Square Stand, not the Square card reader:
The Epson TM-U220 impact printer has been a mainstay in kitchen printing and dry cleaners for many years. The printer uses a ribbon to transfer ink to paper, making it more resistant to smears and discoloration from heat and humidity. Available with a variety of interfaces and cutting methods, the TM-U220 is a solid investment.

Set up is pretty much straightforward. You download the app (Squre Register-POS), you’ll need your Business Account // Personal Account along with routing number. Zip Code, name, address, social security and what not. Pretty much what a bank would ask you. Once your account is linked, it will ask you if you want them to send you their product or if you already got it. I thought the product was going to be sent for free, but it was charging me another $50, so i wanted to cancel and it didn’t give me that option. I still have to check with customer service about that. In the meanwhile i just put “charge me later” or something along the lines.
UPDATE: August 14, 2016 – Still no issues with printing. There is a slight delay, about five seconds, between completing the transaction and printing the receipt. This could very well be an issue using Square Payment Systems, and not really the printer and the IPad that I’ve linked it to for Square sales. The printer does lose its Bluetooth connection when I move the IPad to the next room, which is expected, but it often does not “find” and then “pair” again without me going through the printer’s pairing process again. For that reason, I’m lowering my star rating from five to four. In the scheme of things, this is just a minor inconvenience and the printer quality more than makes up for any issues with pairing from time to time.

Connecting your printer with a USB cable limits mobility and access to your printer, not to mention the ugly cable running through your office. You can solve these problems by buying a wireless printer. Wireless printers come in two basic types: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is simple to set up and use but is more appropriate for small office spaces and a limited number of users while Wi-Fi takes a bit more to set up but can serve more users over a greater range.
